White Oak Woods Neighborhood News and Updates

Dear Neighbors,

Just a note to reach out and update on White Oak Woods happenings and reminders.

WOW HOA Garage Sale this year will be announced soon. The date usually is the 1st or 2nd weekend in June. It will run from 8AM to 1PM and is voluntary. We will put signs at the entrances the week before.

We have improved and updated our online website at www.WhiteOakWoodsHOA.com where you can find dates for upcoming events, news concerning the neighborhood, a list of our Directors, and links to our Architectural Review Request (ARR) forms and related info. We also have a Facebook page at “White Oak Woods Neighborhood Resident Chat”, which is used for unofficial communication between neighbors. It is available for quick notes, friendly reminders or requests among neighbors concerning neighborhood news only – no spamming of any type.

The ARR forms are needed anytime any permanent change or addition is being considered for your home and needs reviewed by our Architectural Control Committee and approved before any work is to begin. This includes tree and shrub removal or planting (excluding annual or seasonal plantings), changing exterior colors of home, etc.  We ask that you plan ahead and give 30 days notice once submitting an ARR to a Board Member or directly to our Blue Sky Community Management Rep Clyde Evans at (317) 888-7450 or cdevans@IndyBlueSky.com.

All neighbors should be in possession a copy of the current Rules & Regulations, Covenants and By Laws. It is required by State Law to be provided to you by your real estate agent upon closing. This document details everything that can and cannot be done.

A few common ones that have come up more than a few times in the past weeks are highlighted below.

Lawn Upkeep

Needs maintained to a neighborhood standard. If your lawn needs work – Now is the time to put the work in. If you can’t do it, ask a neighbor or friend or consult professional help. Note: Blowing or leaving cut grass in the street is a WOW HOA neighborhood AND a City of Indianapolis Ordinance violation.

Barking Dogs

If you have one – please be considerate of neighbors who don’t and control excessive or loud dog barking. This is a WOW HOA neighborhood AND a City of Indianapolis Ordinance violation.

Street Parking

We are cognizant that many neighbors have a full house or more at this time, but overnight street parking is a WOW HOA neighborhood violation and we just ask that you make every effort to keep them parked in your driveways. Parking on the wrong side of the street (facing oncoming traffic) is dangerous and IS a City of Indianapolis Ordinance violation. IMPD Non-Emergency # is (317) 327-3811

Speed Limit

In WOW is 25 MPH Max. Please advise all drivers in your home and visitors to your home of this City of Indianapolis Ordinance violation. This also applies to service and delivery vehicles, and we have notified a couple of the FedEx and Amazon Prime vehicles that disregard this.

IMPD Southeast District Non-Emergency # is (317) 327-3811 for any Ordinance Violations or needs.

The last two points above are made because with school closures and all students at home, we essentially have Summer Break until they return and with walkers, runners, and bikers out in full force we want everyone to be extra cautious so there are never any accidents or injuries and all are safe in White Oak Woods.

Our goal is to maintain a safe and inviting neighborhood atmosphere for all our neighbors, and by all means – take this opportunity to get out and meet (at a safe distance, of course!) a few more! If you have any questions, you may contact Clyde Evans of Blue Sky or any HOA Board Member.

Thank You, Neighbors!
